Established in 1983, M.J Phoenix & Son Ltd is a well-known and respected building, civil engineering and maintenance company undertaking the role of Main Contractor within the commercial, rural, new build and higher education sectors. Carrying out a wide range of projects within these sectors, our company aspires to exceed client expectations at all times. Our company has built its name upon a well-earned reputation through almost 4 decades of continuous works.

Established by Malcolm Phoenix, the business is currently led by Malcolm’s son Delwyn and his wife Margaret- with their children Calum & Rhianon also in the family business. Ever expanding, MJ Phoenix and Son Ltd have gained clients ranging from government to local and national building consultancy companies as well as Architectural practices. Our company covers a geographical area from the Scottish borders to North Yorkshire across to Carlisle.

We have developed a history of co-operation and non-adversarial contracting and believe in working together building mutual trust and respect to maintain client relationships. This is proven with much of the work being repeat business and by recommendation. Further complementing our strengths is the range of expertise and specialist services that the company are able to call upon from our core sub-contractors with whom we have had long established relationships.
